The Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) is a highly respected not-for-profit association that represents all sectors of the air transport industry. It is the only global industry-wide body to bring together all aviation industry players so that they can speak with one voice – and it works to promote aviation’s sustainable growth for the benefit of our global society.
ATAG’s existence is entirely dependent upon funding from its members. These include airports, airlines, airframe and engine manufacturers, air navigation service providers, airline pilot and air traffic controller unions, chambers of commerce, tourism and trade partners, ground transportation and communications providers. The diversity of ATAG’s membership adds to its credibility and high level of influence with international decision-makers.
ATAG has some 50 members worldwide. Its funding members play a driving role within ATAG and devote substantive time and resources to the association. They include: Airports Council International, Airbus, ATR, Boeing, Bombardier, Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), CFM International, Embraer, GE, Honeywell Aerospace, International Air Transport Association (IATA), Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and Safran.
Airlines for America (A4A) advocates on behalf of its members to shape crucial policies and measures that promote safety, security and a healthy U.S. airline industry. We work collaboratively with airlines, labor, Congress and the Administration and other groups to improve air travel for everyone. Annually, commercial aviation helps drive nearly $1.5 trillion in U.S. economic activity and more than 10 million U.S. jobs. Airlines for America (A4A) vigorously advocates on behalf of the American airline industry as a model of safety, customer service and environmental responsibility and as the indispensable network that drives our nation’s economy and global competitiveness.
AACO’s vision is to stand out globally as THE association that serves with dedication the Arab airlines and to be instrumental in dealing with an evolving aviation industry. AACO’s mission is to serve the Arab airlines, represent their common interests, and facilitate, in a manner consistent with all applicable competition and other laws, their cooperation so as to improve their operational efficiencies and better serve the travelling public.
The primary purpose of AAPA is to serve as a common forum for the articulation of views on matters and issues of common interest to the Asia Pacific aviation industry; to foster close cooperation with other relevant stakeholders; and to encourage the successful evolution of the travel and tourism industry as a key contributor to economic, social and cultural development. AAPA speaks with a common voice on behalf of Asia Pacific carriers and puts forward Asian perspectives when dealing with governments, aircraft manufacturers, airport authorities and other organisations on industry issues. AAPA closely monitors political and regulatory developments, liaises with authorities, assists in filings in response to consultations and arranges meetings with senior government officials and other relevant institutions involved in the development of aviation policies.
ALTA (Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association) is a private, non-profit organization, whose member airlines represent over 90 percent of the region’s commercial air traffic. ALTA coordinates the collaborative efforts of its members in order to facilitate the development of safer, more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly air transport in the Latin America and Caribbean region for the mutual benefit of the association’s members, their customers and the industry.
Just recently the 5 leading airline groups in Europe called for nothing less than a revolution. Flying more than 500 million passengers per year, the members of Airlines for Europe account for nearly two-thirds of the Europe’s passenger journeys. Every day, more than 2,500 of their airplanes cross the continent, and more than 300,000 employees in the air and on the ground ensure safe and reliable operations. Now it’s time for a change and a fresh approach to promote the interests of European airlines and their passengers.
To enable responsible, sustainable growth for business aviation, enhancing connectivity and creating opportunities. Business Aviation provides closely tailored, flexible, point to point air transportation for individuals, governments, businesses and local communities in the most time-efficient way possible. It generally refers to an on-demand industry that consists of a mixture of commercial and non-commercial services that encompasses everything from charter to corporate and emergency medical flights. It makes people and businesses more efficient and contributes to connectivity and opportunities. Business Aviation is about the nature of the service provided, not about the size or type of the aircraft. It is both technology neutral and open to new technologies.
The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) is a trade association representing the European aviation industry. Our membership includes 53 airlines and 148 associate and affiliate members who jointly cover the entire spectrum of the aviation sector – airlines, airports, manufacturers and suppliers.
The International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) is a non-profit business organisation created in June 1999 to establish a functional international framework for trading in greenhouse gas emission reductions. Our membership includes leading international companies from across the carbon trading cycle. IETA members seek to develop an emissions trading regime that results in real and verifiable greenhouse gas emission reductions, while balancing economic efficiency with environmental integrity and social equity.
The Climate Markets & Investment Association (CMIA) leads a global coalition of private sector actors involved in shifting the trillions that will enable a transition to a low-carbon sustainable economy through climate policy, finance and investment. CMIA is an independent, not for profit trade association providing leadership from the private sector in the delivery of climate investment policy and market mechanisms since 2008. CMIA is one of two active private sector observers to the Green Climate Fund as well as holds a private sector observer role at the World Bank’s Climate Investment Funds and Forest Carbon Partnership Facility.
The International Coalition for Sustainable Aviation (ICSA) was established in 1998 by a group of national and international environmental Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) as official observers at the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). While many countries have introduced policies and regulations to address aircraft CO2 emissions and noise over the years, the overall environmental impact of aviation is significant, and its climate impact will continue to grow rapidly unless immediate action is taken. Some countries have led with measures such as taxation or market instruments. However, aviation is an international sector and benefits from a coordinated response that effectively tackles the sector’s international emissions. ICSA works with the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to promote such a response.
The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) is a global, multi-stakeholder independent organisation that drives the development of a truly sustainable bioeconomy through certification, innovation and collaborative partnerships – all founded upon our best-in-class sustainability standard with its robust approach to social and environmental issues. This approach allows RSB to provide credible tools and solutions for sustainability that mitigate business risk and contribute to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, while administering the world’s most trusted, peer-reviewed, global certification standard for sustainable biomaterials, advanced fuels and biomass production.
